Sock Monkey, 2024.

This project reimagines the classic sock monkey as an inclusive, hands-on tutorial for parents and children to create together. Alongside the traditional guide, I designed extension tutorials that teach how to craft monkeys with unique traits and conditions—like vitiligo, acne, scars, heterochromia, and prosthetic limbs.

Each tutorial includes simple, illustrated steps and approachable explanations that celebrate difference and encourage empathy through play. The introductory texts were written with the help of ChatGPT to ensure the language was accessible, educational, and kind.

By blending craft, illustration, and storytelling, this project turns a nostalgic toy into a tool for connection and acceptance.
